Corey Kupersmith

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Corey oversees development strategy, market and financial diligence, and strategic partnerships. Prior to co-founding Sun2o, Corey worked in the Power & Renewable Investment Banking Group at BofA Merrill Lynch. While at BofA Merrill, Corey worked with clients on the valuation, financing and sale of over 10,000 MW of renewable and fossil generation assets.

Graduated from the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business with a B.B.A. in Finance

Victor Holten

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Victor oversees project development, land acquisition, and site analysis. Prior to co-founding Sun2o, Victor worked in the Corporate Valuation Support group of Constellation Energy. At Constellation, Victor was part of the project team which executed hundreds of megawatts of wind and solar development projects.

Graduated from the Sanford School of Public Policy of Duke University with A.B. in Public Policy

 

Alex Baker

VP Development

Alex oversees new market project development, including land acquisition, and local engagement. Previously, Alex worked as a Portfolio Manager at Ceres Partners, a $1B+ farmland-focused investment fund, and as a Senior Development Manager at Savion & Tradewind Energy, two utility-scale renewable energy developers, where he managed the development of over $3B of utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Alex graduated from the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business with a B.B.A. in Finance


Melissa Seymour

VP External Affairs

Melissa works with customers, regulators, policymakers and independent system operators to advance Sun2o projects. Prior to joining Sun2o, she spent 10 years at the Midcontinent Independent System Operation (MISO) in external facing roles including being VP of External Affairs.  Melissa has also held various strategic planning, market development, and regulatory positions at Iberdrola Renewables (now Avangrid), the Bonneville Power Administration, PacifiCorp, Southstar Energy Services and Southern Company Energy Marketing.

Melissa holds a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechanics from the University of Tennessee.

Jimmy Balough, P.E.

VP Development Engineering

Jimmy oversees all technical and engineering related aspects of the development process. Prior to joining Sun2o, Jimmy supported EPC construction of utility scale solar and battery storage projects at Black & Veatch, supported utility scale solar and battery storage development engineering efforts at Savion Energy and supported business development and R&D efforts at Gamechange Solar, a leading solar racking supplier.

Jimmy has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Management, both from the University of Kansas.


Ben Ludwig

Director of Development

Ben is responsible for overseeing permitting, tax abatement negotiations, and community engagement initiatives. Prior to joining Sun2o, he played a crucial role in the development of utility-scale projects nationwide, successfully acquiring over 25,000 acres for solar development. Before transitioning into the renewable energy field, Ben worked as a legislative aide for multiple members of Congress. He also served as a lobbyist on behalf of a bipartisan think-tank, and worked as a campaign consultant for various local, state, and federal political campaigns.

Ben holds a B.A. in History and Foreign Affairs from Hampden-Sydney College.

Trey Jenner

Development Associate

Trey assists in the development of new clean energy projects, including siting analysis and land acquisition. Previously, Trey worked in acquisitions and divestitures at Plains All American Pipeline, a leading midstream company. He also worked as part of the project development team at Endeavor Natural Gas, a private equity-backed oil and gas development firm, where he assisted in the leasing, development, and eventual sale of upstream energy assets.

Trey graduated the University of Virginia with a B.A. in History and a minor in Economics
